Bypassing Outlook's Deleted Items folder
Subscriber Frances F. asks 'Is there a way to delete messages from the Inbox so they are deleted once and for all, instead of deleting them and then having to delete again from the Deleted Items folder?'
Yes, there is a way in Outlook to delete something and not have it go into the Deleted Items folder. This works for anything you delete, regardless of which folder it is in.
Just press the Shift key as you delete the item. Use this with care, of course, as once it's deleted there is no way to get it back.
Any questions, please let me know.
