Going Places in Excel
If
you work with a large spreadsheet you may sometimes find yourself repeatedly
switching back and forth between a couple of distant cells entering data or
looking at the result of a formula. While you can use scrolling to switch
between the cells, it may not the quickest way.
Note
that the area on the left of the Formula Bar, where the active cell's address
is displayed, is called the Name Box.
To
quickly go to a cell:
- Click in the Name Box
- Enter the cell address to which you want to go
- Press Enter
I
would agree that you are unlikely to know the cell address of specific cells in
your workbook (if you do you need to get out more J).
Yet I think it is feasible to remember a few addresses for a short period of
time while you work on the spreadsheet.
Any questions,
please let me know.
