You might occasionally want to experiment with a feature in Word but you may not have a suitable document to use.\u00a0 For instance, you may want to add sections to a document so you can experiment with different footers or page numbers in a document.\u00a0\u00a0 For this to work well you would need a document that had about five or six pages.<\/p>\n

Rather than searching through your files to find a suitable document, why not get Word to quickly create a five or six page document for you?<\/p>\n

If you enter =rand() on a blank line in Word 2013 and then press Enter it generates five paragraphs each with three sentences.\u00a0 (In Word 2007 and 2010 it generates three paragraphs each with three sentences and about the same amount of text).<\/p>\n

=rand takes two parameters in the brackets: the number of paragraphs and the number of sentences.<\/p>\n

So =rand(20,10) would give you 20 paragraphs each with 10 sentences.\u00a0 This is about five pages of text, depending on the font and font size you are using.<\/p>\n

This feature, =rand(), will work in any document you have so you can easily use it to add more text to an existing document.\u00a0 \u00a0Note that it only works if it is on a blank line.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
