Select the block of cells. In the example above I selected seven rows and four columns of data.
2. On the Home tab in the Styles group, select Conditional Formatting
3. Select New Rule
4. In the Select a Type of Rule list, select Use formula to determine which cells to format
5. In Format values where this formula is true box, enter =
6. Click on the cell in the Paid column for the first row of data
7. Delete the second $ in the cell address so $D$2 becomes $D2
8. You might want to experiment with the formula you are going to use before you create a rule. This will be useful in getting the logic and syntax of the formula correct before you dive into conditional formatting. So, in the example above I clicked in a column to the right of Paid and created the formula I wanted to use. = D2 = “x”
• If you are going to use text in a formula you need to put it in ” ” otherwise you’ll get a #NAME error
• If one of your columns contained dates, you could use conditional formatting to highlight rows that had today’s date or all dates in the last seven days.

If you have rows of data in an Excel spreadsheet it can sometimes be handy to highlight the row based on the value in one of the cells in that …

[3

post-277","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-excel
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.4 -
