Do you sometimes find yourself wanting to take a peek at a file you are about to open in Word?\u00a0 \u00a0Maybe you are looking for a specific file and you know what\u2019s in it but you are not sure of the name.\u00a0\u00a0 Rather than open and the close several files before you find the right one, why not preview the files first so you can open the one you want.<\/p>\n

In the Open dialog box at the top right of the window is a Preview button.\u00a0 Click on it to display the Preview pane and then select a file.\u00a0 Each file you select will be displayed in the Preview pane.<\/p>\n

The preview pane takes up quite a bit of space in the Open dialog box so I usually turn it off (by clicking on the Preview button) when I am finished.<\/p>\n

Windows Explorer and the Insert File dialog box in Outlook also have the Preview button.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
