How to prevent Word inserting the Copyright symbol in a document

Subscriber Cal J. asked ‘What to do when you want (c) rather than ©?’ You have couple of ways to approach this.

If you sometimes want to use the c in brackets rather than the copyright symbol, just use Undo immediately after AutoCorrect changes the brackets into a © and you’ll have the brackets back.

Alternatively, if you never want the copyright symbol, you can delete the AutoCorrect entry:
1. File tab, Options
2. Select Proofing in the navigation pane on the left
3. Click on the AutoCorrect options button

4. Click on the (c) entry to select it

5. Click on the Delete button
6. Click on OK
