Developing a one-page document in Word to put up on a notice board? Want to spice it up and make it more visually interesting and fun? Then use Page Borders.
To apply Page Borders in Word:
- On the Design tab in the Page Background group, click on the Page Borders button (last button on the right of the Ribbon)
- Select options for Style, Colour, Width and Art as needed
- Click on OK
Notes:
- The border you select will be applied to all four sides of the page. In the Borders and Shading dialog box, use the buttons in the preview area to remove (or apply) the border from one or more sides.
- Have a look at the options on the Art drop-down list to see some fun borders.
- If the border you select on the Art drop-down list is coloured, you cannot change the colour. You can only change the colour of borders that start off black. So on the Art drop-down list, you can only have red cherries and green Christmas trees.
By default, page borders will be applied to the whole document. In the Borders and Shading dialog box, in the Apply to: drop-down list, choose This section – First page only to only apply the border to the cover page of a report or handout.
