A great way to manage all your passwords

For about the last year I’ve been using a very useful website & app that keeps track of and manages all my passwords.  It’s such a useful tool I wanted to share it with you.  And it’s free for personal use.

With the proliferation of passwords we seem to have to deal with these days, keeping track of them all can be tricky.  Lastpass downloads an add-in for your browser and then every time you log into a website it gives you the option to store the login info.  Whenever you go back to that website, lastpass supplies the login info for you.

The only password you then need to remember is the one you use to login to lastpass.  Once it is set up on your computer it’ll keep you logged in so you don’t need to sign on to lastpass each time. Current thinking on creating a very secure password is to use a phrase: myfirstpet’snamewasRover or Istartedworkingatabccompanyin2005

And there is an app that will sync all your passwords so you can use them on your mobile devices as well.

If you work for a larger organization there may be IT policies that restrict use of an add-in like this at work but you could still use it to manage your personal passwords.

Head on over to www.lastpass.com and have a look.
