Let’s say you set up a recurring appointment or meeting and one of the occurrences falls on a stat holiday. You want to move that one occurrence to the next business day.
Quickest thing to do is drag it to the following day and click on the Yes button to change just that occurrence.
If you open the series and change something, the changes will be applied to all occurrences, including the one you moved to a different date.
This approach of creating a recurring appointment and then moving individual appointments using drag and drop would also work if there was no pattern to the events.
Let’s say I had an appointment that recurred five times but the recurrences didn’t fit any pattern. I could create a recurring appointment and then move all of the individual appointments to a new day using drag and drop. Outlook still lets me open the series and make changes, if needed.
